Many providers install electric heating rods in the heat pumps themselves and sell them to you as a key part of the devices. Electric heating rods compensate for the heat pump systems’ lack of kW (heat output). As a result, your operating costs increase unnecessarily. Heating rods cannot be justified for safety reasons either – they simply conceal a manufacturer or system installer’s lack of ability.
