IMPROVED RELIABILITY... thanks to 20 years’ experience! More than 20 years of continuous research and development have made Heliotherm a leader in the field of heat pump technology. Unlike other heat pump providers – which generally sell fossil heating systems as well (oil, gas and pellet heating) – Heliotherm has specialised exclusively in the development of highly efficient heat pumps. The story: In 1987, Andreas Bangheri came home from America with a scroll compressor in his luggage. He went on to develop Europe’s first electrically-powered heat pump with scroll technology. After a phase of research and development lasting several years, he launched a heat pump, which runs on a spiral compressor, on the market and founded the company Heliotherm. 1994 saw the first prototype with the new high-pressure technology for R410 being presented on the market. In 1996, Heliotherm developed an electronic injection system (Heliotherm dsi® technology), which optimises the settings to enable maximum efficiency while the heat pumps are running. The system adapts to altered operating conditions automatically, slashing operating costs. The remote maintenance concept was developed in 1997 and allows Heliotherm’s expert partners to make heat pump settings directly from their offices without having to make costly service calls on site each time. 2000 saw the beginning of a collaboration with M-TEC and the development of the CO2 ground probe. In 2002 came high performance monitoring – complete monitoring of the heating system. The world’s first Internet heat pump regulation system – web control® 321 – was developed in 2003. This enables customers to call up and change operating conditions, temperatures and meter readings online from anywhere in the world on their Heliotherm web control® heat pump regulation systems. Heliotherm’s expert partners can also offer customers special services for their heat pump systems, such as time programme modifications, heating curve settings, remote diagnoses and optimisation tasks. web control® was launched on the market in 2004.Tyrol’s heat pump manufacturer went one step further in 2005, combining the ground-coupled indirect system (CO2 probe technology), which runs without any additional auxiliary drives, with a fully modulating heat pump. The patented twin-x® refrigeration technology and integrated Heliotherm dsi® technology give the efficiency of the fully modulating heat pumps an extra boost. The company has now registered numerous international patents in the field of heat pump technology, which significantly aid heat pump efficiency. In January 2007 the new Heliotherm Heat Pump Competence Centre opened its doors. This serves to optimise the production of Heliotherm’s highly efficient heat pumps. It also created space and energy for future research and development work in the field of heat pump technology. |
