 What will the new HEAT ACT achieve?Sigmar Gabriel [Federal Minister for the Environment, Conservation and Reactor Safety] says: “The conservation of our climate is a key challenge for the whole of mankind. If we want to prevent average temperatures from rising by more than two degrees by the end of this century, we must take decisive action now. That’s why I am committed to cutting Germany’s CO2 emissions by 40% by 2020 compared to 1990. The Renewable Energies Heat Act will play a key role in this as part of the government’s Integrated Energy and Climate Programme.
